As we come to the close of the year, it is always good, I think, for each individual to reflect on his own life. Here are some questions which might be useful as a start in determining our spiritual status.<\/p>\n
Am I right with God?
\nAm I doing all I can for the Lord?
\nAm I doing all I can spiritually for myself?
\nDo I have sin in my life now?
\nDo I know where I am going?
\nDo I know where I have been?
\nDo I know where God wants me to be?
\nDo I know what awaits me in the future?
\nDo I study the Bible enough? (Every day? Week? Month?)
\nDo I give in to temptation?
\nDo I know what my weaknesses are?
\nHave I tried to overcome my weaknesses?
\nAm I thankful enough for all have received?
\nDo I realize how blessed I am?
\nDo I pray (talk to God) enough?
\nDo I sing (psalms, hymns and spiritual songs) enough?
\nAm I truly happy?
\nIs there true joy in my heart?
\nDo I tell others about Christ often enough?
\nDoes the word of Christ dwell in me richly?
\nDo I have an influence on other people?
\nDo my friends and acquaintances know I am a Christian?
\nDo my friends and acquaintances know where I stand on issues (one church, baptism, faith only, homosexuality, abortion, etc)?
\nDo I worry too much?
\nDo I use foul language?
\nDo I watch the wrong kind of television?
\nDo I read the wrong kind of books?
\nDo I stand up for what I know is right?
\nDo I fear man? Circumstances? The future? God?
\nDo I grieve for the right reasons?
\nDo I use my time wisely?
\nAm I mean?
\nAm I kind?
\nHave I used my money wisely?
\nHave I laid up any treasures in Heaven?
\nIf I have children, am I bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?
\nDo I provoke my children to wrath?
\nDo I provoke others to good works?
\nDo I just provoke others?
\nIs there true love in my heart?
\nDo I frustrate the grace of God?
\nCan others see Christ in me?
\nAm I zealous of the truth?
\nAm I zealous of the Lord’s church?
\nAm I zealous or am I ambivalent?
\nAm I weary of doing well?
\nDo I keep my eyes open for opportunities to glorify God?
\nHave I lied?
\nDo I have a tendency to lie?
\nIs the truth important to me?
\nAm I easily persuaded to believe that which is not true?
\nDo I have a tendency to believe the worst about others?
\nDo I behave differently than the world?
\nAm I a follower of men or a man?
\nDo I easily become angry?
\nDo I laugh at unseemly jokes?
\nDo I tell unseemly jokes?
\nDo I sacrifice for the Lord?
\nWhat is most important in my life, things of God or man?
\nWho is most important person in my life?
\nDo I try to live peaceably with all men?
\nCan I explain to others why I believe what I believe?
\nDo I know what I believe?
\nDo I pray for the spread of the gospel?
\nDo I work for the spread of the gospel?
\nDo I esteem others better then myself?
\nAm I sincere?
\nDo I try to be something that I am not to gain the favor of others?
\nDo I behave as if I am ashamed of the Lord?
\nDo I rejoice when I know someone has done well or prospered?
\nDo I trust in God?
\nDo I trust in God enough to do what He says even when it doesn’t seem to prosper me?
\nWould others think of me as humble?
\nAm I vain? Would I admit if I were?
\nDo I dress in a way that looks dignified and Christ like?
\nDo I dress in a way that respects other’s sensibilities?
\nDo I conduct myself in a way that is respectable?
\nDo I behave a certain way because that is the way people act in the group that I associate with or do I conduct myself at all times as Christ would?
\nDoes the crowd I associate with help me to live the Christian life?
\nDo I follow the example of good men and women I know?
\nDo I try to leave a good example for others to follow?
\nDo I try to think on things that are good and wholesome?
\nDo I let go of things in the past that keep from being my best as a Christian?
\nDo I regularly think about the Lord coming again?
\nIs there anything I wouldn’t give up for the Lord and His Cause?
\nDo I mind my own business?
\nDo I regularly give thanks for the blessings I receive?
\nAm I judgmental?
\nDo I treat all men with dignity?
\nAm I longsuffering with those who are trying but fail?
\nDo I truly love my family? My husband? My wife? My children?
\nHave I gotten rid of all the idols in my heart?
\nHave I torn down completely all the altars I had before I obeyed the gospel? The ones I allowed to be built even after I became a Christian?
\nDo I have patience with others? With myself?
\nDo I abstain from all appearance of evil?
\nWill the Lord be able to say “Come thou blessed of the Father.”
\nDoes God know me?
\nDo I know God?
\nHave I fought a good fight?
\nHave I finished my course?
\nIs there laid up for me a crown of righteousness?<\/p>\n
Anyway, these are some things to think about. Certainly there are many more. Maybe these will serve as a start.<\/p>\n
